Music Schedule & Rules

Music Rules

  • Volunteers are needed to play music during CanSkate Junior, STARSkate  Intermediate, STARSkate Senior and CompetitiveSkate sessions. Parents or guardians will be asked to indicate their availability to play music during registration.  Training will be provided for any first time music players.
  • An additional fee of $50.00 per family will be charged at registration to families who are unwilling or unable to play music throughout the skating season.
  • From this list, the Music Chair will create a monthly schedule for each session and post it on the bulletin board beside the Club music equipment (in the Club office).
  • If there are not sufficient music players available volunteers for a particular session, the Music Chair will setup a meeting with the parents/guardians to discuss the various options in order to come up with a solution.
  • Music will be played in rotation.
  • Skaters are not permitted to make music playing requests.
  • If a skater misses his or her music, he or she must wait until the rotation begins again.
  • It is the skater’s responsibility to be on the ice when his or her name is called, injury being the only exception.
  • The complete music policy can be found in the Club office.
