Alexis Engwerda

Personal Profile:

My feet first hit the Morrisburg ice at the age of 3, and I am pleased to still be a part of this club, now undergoing my third year of coaching. I am passionate about skating and am excited to continue passing along this love to other skaters. Skating has inspired me to study psychology at Carleton University, where I hope to eventually become a sports psychologist or a counsellor.

My coaching philosophy:

I have learned myself through figure skating that if you work hard and believe in yourself, you can achieve any goals you have in mind, despite the obstacles faced along the way. As a coach, my goal is to pass along my love of skating to motivate skaters to develop their full potential. I would like to encourage skaters to continuously learn, grow, and succeed while maintaining a passion for the sport and emphasizing successes along the way.
